A disc jockey at the new WAKY, Greg LaHa, has been reported missing, and has been missing for a week. Please keep him, his family as well as his radio family in your prayers. This morning's News-Enterprise is reporting on this and has been in contact with management.

My first thought after reading this -- being the skeptical old radio guy I am -- is that it was a publicity stunt (which would be keeping in the spirit of WAKY). However, after reading this article online... www.thenewsenterprise.com/articles/2007/05/24/news/news04.txt...it seems real. I noticed he has been taken off both the WAKY and WLVK Websites.

Hi all, Les Cook here and yes, we will play games, like the KOOL has gone country thing. But, this is no stunt. We don't know where he is. He called in and resigned last week. Several people at our stations are friends with Greg and are very concerned. We hope all is well with Greg and we are praying for him. L

Something I've noted and am saddened by, is that there has been very, very little mention of this on radio stations, and that is more than likely due to the competition standpoint...which is sad that in an instance like this, we can't just put down our gloves and work for the good of a fellow radio guy...who, by the way, is a person.

Karen Allenn here. Just a quick note in response to WAKY & Big Cat 105.5 not reporting on the disappearance of Greg Laha. We allowed the "news" personnel to handle the details. They are equipped to present the issue in a manner that would gain the respect and attention of the people. Had we played on it, it might have seemed like a publicity stunt and we could have done more damage than good in locating our friend and co worker. Working with the media is the avenue we chose which turned out to be the best decison because they have saturated the market with stories, live interviews and periodic updates. They are doing a great job. Obviously our prayer is we find Greg in one piece and everything will be back to some sort or normalacy for him and his family. Thanks for ALL the concern, prayers and help in this case. We appreciate you so much and if you hear ANYTHING, please let us know! In His Unfailing Grip, Karen Allenn

I've been informed by a friend and co-worker of Greg's that he has been heard from and is okay, but no further details were given.
