Wow! John Quincy is a Christmas Eve Bady? Happy Birthday, John!
And if memory serves, David Bratcher (aka Mason Lee Dixon) is a Christmas Baby. Christmas Day will find the man at 61 years of age and probably still writing poetry. He wrote & produced one about Christmas, which I failed to get to Max on time for WAKY OnLine, but will try again next year. Mason recorded 25 poems which were rotated on his overnight show during the early '70s at around 55 minutes into the hour.
Happy Birthday to 'Mace-In-Your-Face' (as he likes to say) on Christmas Day.

Good morning and Merry Christmas everybody! 4:20 AM and all's well here at the water treatment facilities in Venice, Florida. People use water 24/7 so somebody's got to be here. And to think I got out of radio so that I could work a real job with normal hours and weekends & holidays off. Happy Birthday to the one & only Mason Lee Dixon. John Quincy just hit another one on Christmas Eve, and if we all don't find a way to slow this process down we won't be above ground for much longer and... uh... just nevermind. Happy Holidays!

Wow, Max. You keep late hours. Are you an overnight water treatment plant operator, too?
Anyway, Happy Birthday to John Quincy on this Christmas Eve of 2007. We need to slow down John or the big 6-O will be here sooner than I would like for it to be.

John, Happy Birthday and hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas. Thank you and the sites for the great memories that you have brought us. You are still a youngster compaired to some of us from the Mighty 790 and those of us who worked in the Ky Home Life Building.

Christmas Eve 2008
It's another Christmas Eve as I write. Happy Birthday to John Quincy, turning 53 today. Mason Lee Dixon will be 64 on Christmas Day. Gary Burbank retired from radio around this time last year. Gary has been spotted on a golf course in Ocala, Florida nearly every day and appears to actually be getting younger. Bruiser's age remains unknown, but he continues to remind everyone on this thread that we're all just a bunch of fuzzy cheeked, snot nosed kids.
That works for me. Merry Christmas!

Another Happy Birthday to one of the most dedicated crusaders for the Big 79! In fact, almost without question you are the WAKY Prince! Things may have slowed down on here from 2005-2006, but thanks to you, this is a permanent home for the memories we all have of the Super 79, not only of the music and programming, but obviously of each talented person who ever sat behind that microphone...that gateway to the Kentuckiana airwaves that blasted those wonderful sounds we all loved. You have provided the conduit to those memories. And for your contribution to the radio industry, there are no doubt many more who thank you. John, I am wishing you many more happy birthdays with your wonderful wife. Enjoy your day tomorrow, JQ...you earned it!

Wow. We're headed into 2010 with this thread. Maybe it's not such a good idea to do this; the years appear to be passing much more quickly this way. Let's just pretend that nobody has a birthday. We'll all just stay the age we are and be around forever. Yea, that'll work.

I do want to wish a very Happy Birthday and Happy Christmas Eve to John Quincy, without whom we would not be on here! Maybe activity has slowed a bit since 2004 on here, but you are still appreciated JQ, both here, on 1080wklo.com and on the WAKY-WKLO Reunion Page on Facebook.

Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas once again to the one guy we can thank for the rejuvenated WAKY & WKLO interest and I imagine he's chiefly responsible for the emergence of WAKY on FM! Happy Birthday JQ!
