Travis (I think it was), like me, remarked in an earlier post how announcers go from station to station. Being a part timer since 1979, I've only toured the local (E'town) circuit except for the former WODC in Virginia Beach. I have noticed how many jocks HAVE migrated from Elizabethtown to Louisville...some to my surprise! Like, indeed, Travis from WQXE, Jackson Smith from WQXE (both were surprises to me), Bo Brady from WSAC (Radcliff/Fort Knox, just 10 miles or so from here), E.J. Clark from WQXE to WKMO to ExtraSports 790 (I'm sure there was somewhere in between), Bob Craft from WIEL to Kool 103.5 to WAMZ, Michelle McLane from WQXE to WHAS and out of radio, and Sandra McQuarry from WQXE to WHAS/WJZL (Clear Channel). I'm sure I'm missing some, too.

Radio jocks have generally been nomadic, jumping from station to station, town to town with an average tenure of 5 years (if even that long) per station. For many in the business it's a small world and paths continue to cross.
By the way. My time with WQXE was short, running from June to November of 1974. I was hired to cover weekends, but wound up covering a variety of shifts because one jock, or another, couldn't make it in for one reason or another. Still, it was a small station and it was costing me almost as much as my pay to make the trips to Elizabethtown (& back). There were also 2 toll plazas to get through on I-65 at the time. Quicksie was a fun station. Bill & Marilyn Evans still own & operate it to this day.
