From the November 14, 2011 Taylor On Radio column (radio-info.com):
TRI’s “No Names, Please” –
"Sure hope I am forgiven" - Louisville radio legend Johnny Randolph says "When I was P.D. of 790/WAKY many years ago, we were strapped with a high religious commitment to the FCC. Due to a complicated directional pattern, we had to take tower readings without modulation on a weekly basis. On Sunday mornings at 6 we would say 'We now pause for a period of silent prayer.' At 6:30 we said 'Amen' - and counted the whole thirty minutes as religious programming." Johnny says "I sure hope I am forgiven." Speaking of sign-offs, Johnny adds that "Years later, when I owned daytimer WKLO in Danville, Kentucky, we would sign off 'in order to give the other stations a chance to catch up.'"
