The legendary Les Paul has passed away at age 94. He was an innovator, inventor, and guitar master. Besides his involvement with the guitar, he laid the foundation for the modern recording industry, with his inventing multi-track recording. You might as well say he invented stereo.

Actually the Brits might not like you saying that Les Paul invented stereo although he did invent multi-track. Les Paul had been playing with himself (that is guitar overdubs using disks) for many years and saw an opportunity to do it better with tape - thus multi tracks.
PBS had a great special about him a couple of years ago. The guy was really something.

I believe that PBS special on Les Paul was part of their American Masters series and ran in just the past 6 months, but not sure since time seems to fly by so quickly, anymore. At least it appears to fly by for me.

Les had heard about a German tape recorder after WWII had ended. It actually used tape instead of wire. Les mentioned it to his pal, Bing Crosby. and lo and behold, a few weeks later Bing showed up at Les' place with a couple of the recorders. The rest is history.
Les also designed the first 8 track recorder, and had it built by Ampex. I wonder if he bothered to patent it?

Attn: Guitarman
I checked out your site and you are one serious man when it comes to creating a guitar. Les Paul would have no doubt been very impressed.
As much as I love music I am in no way a musician. However, I can be quite impressive with my ability to drum along with songs on the radio and I am especially good at doing so on the center console of my Dodge Dakota, but for obvious reasons I have since stopped this practice.
That's right, it interfered with my ability to "text" while driving. ;D
Best wishes on what appears to be a real labor of love and a true work of art, both musically and visually.
