Maybe it's because it's the 4th of july and all, but I have been listening to WRKA since 5 AM, and they are really rockin' this morning.

Rocking only since recently, Les. You wouldn't be a little biased, would you? Time will only tell how much 'variety' either station has.

I have to say I like 103.5 the best.

I've been listening to 103.5 for the past 7 years or so and I have to say they do play a little better of a variety than WRKA...and once again, there's my 2 cents worth

When I listen to radio these days I sometimes punch back and forth between these two stations. The problem is they both sound pretty sterile. WRKA and Kool 103 both are no better than me dumping some MP3's on a disk and listening to it. Except, yuk, if I listen to those stations I have to hear the commercials....and there is nothing that makes up for the commercials. Put some personality back!
The jocks on stations used to inject some excitement, some information, that's what they did. Radio is more than being about music. Any station that doesn't know that in this day and age will find it's audience leaving as people program their own IPods and music CDs.

I want to correct an omission in my previous post....
Wayne Perkey sounds better on WRKA than he ever did on WHAS. He is a nice addition and I hope he has found a home.

Let's hope there are some current air 'personalities' AND PD's that read the next to last Mike Griffin post. They also need to listen first to WAKY & WKLO airchecks for a good while and then to their own stations and ask themselves if this is programming they can and would listen to for hours on end by choice. Live, listen and LEARN. Oh, and to the owners and general managers, IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT THE MONEY! That which you seek to save, you shall lose!
