In 1972 a single was released by a very popular artist which got into the top 10. On the 1st Pressings of the Single's Label there was a logo stating something like "Vote 18" which was encouraging 18 year olds to vote (that was the 1st year 18 yr olds could vote) Tell me the Artist & The Song.

I'm guessing McGovern, but I'm hoping otherwise! Oh, I forgot...need to leave politics out of this site!

I'm not gonna answer this one. Dude can chime in if he wants. I will say that both he and I had the same button.
Just remember that this was a trivia question and as such not political or ideological. It was an extension of the 18 vote question. Yet I have a sense as though I may have stuck a toe into the next civil war.

I remember old Pat Paulsen! He was also shown in a rally of some sort in the "Layin' it on the Line" video by Jefferson Starship, presumably his own rally. Joe Walsh also claimed he was running for president at one time. Don't know if he was or not. But that's a good guess...if not McGovern it was probably be Pat-it would get more jokes and calls! It would have probably been a wise bi-partisan/neutral move to have made back then for a media person, unlike today.

THE ANSWER IS: Rockin Pheumonia & The Boogie Woogie Flu by Johnny Rivers. It was on the original labels when the single was released. I had it but somehow lost it.

Mike, It was great seeing you again at the reunion. I can't believe you remember what button I was wearing in 1972. It was Mcgovern, sorry Max, because Nixon whom I voted for in 1968 had promised to end the vietnam war and didn't do it until reelection time. I figured if he could do it then, he could have done it before then. I didn't care for Mcgovern but I voted for him in protest. I am neither democrat or republican. I have voted for four republican candidates and 5 democrats. Dude walker

Actually, when on this forum we should be neither, because what matters should be WAKY only. Forget it Dude... ...you are still admired regardless of party affiliation...end of politics.
