Is the Gene Snyder that is referred to several times in this forum as a radio station owner, the same Gene Snyder that was a Congressman in Louisville?

No. Raymond Eugene Snyder (Gene Snyder) was a WAKY overnight jock in the 60s. He came to Louisville from LA. where he was an engineer for ABC Radio and TV. He was the "how" that I got into radio. He was the WAKY DeeJay that I contacted to promote the Middletown Hop which I had started with the Middletown Recreation Association and "Fessor" Crosby, the Middletown Elementary School principal. I was a senior at Eastern High School. That was 1963 when we started the Hop. Timmy Tyler later started the Ewing Lane Hop in Jeffersonville. Both were very successful. Gene, his former wife Vivan and I started the Joni Agency about the same time that Gene left WAKY and took the PD/ on-air gig at WOWI Radio at 1570 Clifton Avenue in New Albany, IN (Pete Boyce should remember that). WOWI was a daytimer that Gene copied pretty much after WAKY, a fun place to work and hopefully a fun station to hear. I can't tell you folks how happy that I am to have discovered the 'KLO and WAKY web sites. It's MAGIC MEMORY TIME.......
