They say the good die young, and that certainly was the case with Woody Stiles. I didn't know him well but as I looked at the photo of Woody (submitted by Coyote Calhoun on page 15 of Photos) I was reminded of the work he did with 'Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Kentuckiana' during his time with WAKY.
Woody could often be seen at Iroquois Homes, a large government housing complex located off Taylor Boulevard (just north of Iroquois Park) where many fatherless children were in need of a big brother or sister. For some reason, he was often seen with the WAKY News vehicle (pictured at the bottom of page 3 in Photos). I really have no idea why.
Why people like Woody Stiles leave this world at such a young age I do not know. He was certainly a good one to be doing the kind of work he was doing with Big Brothers & Sisters. Thanks to the contributions of Coyote, and others, we can look at Woody Stiles and remember again.
