I noticed in the pg 16 photo's, a 1979 picture of the original "gates" on air board and a 1979 photo of Darrell Douglass at some kind of "slidepot board"...is this from the same studio and what is the history of these boards.

Both boards were photographed in the same studio but at different times during 1979. I believe the Gatesway II board (with the round pots) was purchased when WAKY moved from the Kentucky Home Life Building to the 4th Street studios. It was replaced with the slide-path board in 1979. I don't know the brand name.
WAKY had another Gatesway II control console in the main production room (as can be seen in various photos on this site). It's my understanding that both boards wound up in parts of the newsroom area before the big 79 called it quits. I don't know where either of them are today.

The "Gatesway" on page 15 with Woody, was the console from the Control Room in the Kentucky Home Life Building. The Gatesway II was purchased for the move. The Audiotronics or like name was way after my time apparently.

The old Gatesway, pictured with Woody Stiles on page 15, was in the small production room during the early '70s. I spent a lot of time recording scoped audition tapes in that room while the public affairs stuff was running from the main production room. I never knew that it was the board from the Kentucky Home Life Building until John Quincy launched this website.
