This will sound like sucking up to the boss, but last night I started looking at the playlist at John Quincy's station, Sunny96.9 in Charleston. I finally listened to their stream, and I tell you this is among the best of the soft rock mix formats...soft rock oldies with a spare sprinkling of what is listenable in today's music. I don't know if you had a hand in the playlist, John, but you fellers are doing things right down there. I'll let you do the honors of dropping us the link to the stream!

Thanks Max. I'm the music director and schedule the music, but the PD and consultant decide which songs go into our universe. After a quick sign-up, you can listen live at www.sunny969.com. We're doing all-70s today (July 4, 2007) till 7 p.m. but normally it's "Soft Rock from the 70s, 80s and more" during the week. On Saturdays and Sundays we do "Totally 80s Weekends." You can check out what we've recently played here: www.yes.com/log/?station=WSUY

I tried to log onto the site this morning, but it is directed to a different page and when I open the 95SX site you aren't listed. Has Sunny969 gone away and has the same fate befallen you as has Joe Elliott??
...nevermind-originally I Googled Sunny969 instead of going to the above link. I see the site is temporarily down due to construction.

96.9 in Charleston is now country. The former WSUY "Sunny 96.9" is now WIWF "96.9 The Wolf." Much of the WIWF staff came from WNKT, which was the country station in the cluster but had to move to Columbia, SC...about two hours from here...since Citadel had too many stations in the market after Citadel bought ABC Radio earlier this year. WNKT is now all-sports. I'm still full-time with the Citadel Charleston cluster. Before the change, I had split my duties with NewsTalk WTMA. Now I'm exclusively WTMA. I'm APD, Technical Director, Imaging Director and Morning Show Producer. (Luckily I have a larger-than-normal head so I can wear all of those hats!) You can listen to WTMA online at www.WTMA.com -- check it out sometime. BTW, WTMA was one of the biggest Top 40 stations in the Southeast back in the '60s and '70s -- sort of "The WAKY of Charleston." You can check out the station's rich music radio history at www.WTMAMemories.com (another Website of mine).

I hate it that 969 is changing formats...I thought they had a fantastic format, but either it wasn't making money or else some distant unattached 'heads' made a corporate decision. Hopefully everyone kept their jobs and glad you did. I will check out the link you've given us...
