WAKYOnline, who's this? Oh, yeah...I can't do it that way. So let's have some fun anyway. Be the first correct respondant to this trivia question and you can win a free WAKY/WKLO t-shirt! Don't know what they look like? Go to the t-shirt link on this home page or go to my personal web page and go to the link at the bottom or go directly to www.goatley.com/highbaugh/WAKYWKLOshirt.html . Be the first one to tell me who the advertiser was for this jingle and also who portrayed the character, okay? Here goes: "Hubble Q. Hubble said everything double, repeating each word he would say..." (I can't finish the line...it would give it away) That's it! Just tell me who the commercial is for and the name of the actor in the spot. The winner will receive their t-shirt in December (it will be ordered with the Christmas orders...just give me your size). There's only one winner (for now), but after a winner is identified, don't let the fun stop there. What are some other jingles, radio AND TV alike, from back in the day, both local and national?? Ready? GO!!

Okay...here's another line from the commercial.
"Double Meat! Double Meat!"

Alright, here's the last clue I'm giving...and I'm also giving you the second half of the answer (because I'm such a nice guy). Folks who have already sent in an order to go out this week have a chance to get one of the shirts for free!! Hubble Q. Hubble said everything double, repeating each word he would say:
"Double Meat! Double Meat!"
"Great to eat! Great to eat!"
"And it doesn't cost twice as much more! And it doesn't cost twice as much more!"...and the actor's name is Robbie Rist (sometimes spelled 'Ryst')-an often used child actor in the 70's, most seen as Oliver in the Brady Bunch. Okay...are you seeing the commercial now? The contest will go on through Thursday.

The contest is over and we have no winner...didn't even have any guessers!
The TV commercial was for Burger King. Robbie Rist played Hubble Q. Hubble, walked up to the counter, raised his finger and said "Double Meat! Double Meat!" The commmercial was for a double hamburger they were selling at the time. It wasn't the double cheeseburger, although that may have been what it evolved into...unless they already had that sandwich!
As I've placed my Christmas order for WAKY-WKLO t-shirts this morning, we'll try another trivia contest next month!

I was watching this thread to see what answers would pop up. I didn't have a clue, myself.
