I discovered this message board this morning, after reading the Byron Crawford column in the August 2, 2006 Courier-Journal (promoting the WAKY/WKLO reunion).
If I'm repeating a topic previously covered, that's because I'm new.
An early listener of WAKY, I remember morning DJ Phil Page who went up a flag pole, pledging to stay there until WAKY became the #1 station in Louisville. A staple of his show was "inky pinkys" -- a rhyming puzzle where listeners who solved the puzzle could call in and get our names read on the air. Example (an "ink pink" - single syllable) -- Q. "Ancient Precious Metal"; A. "Old Gold".
I remember one inkadinka-pinkadinka. Q. "New York Storage Compartment for Whisky" Anyone want to take a stab at that?
