Wasn't Bill Bailey and Bob Moody going to build a rest area at the Waddy/Peytona exit? To this day, when we pass that exit I remember them talking about it.

The Ol' Duke was always talking about building a Stucky's franchise there. ;D

The Duke and I are still working on the construction loan. There will also be a landing strip for WAKY Airlines next to the Hiney Winery.
It made me smile to know that you still remember after all these years.

Bob, you and the Duke are one of the few fond memories I have of my dear daddy, who died in 1974 when I was 13. One of the few things he was passionate about was listening to Bill Bailey. I believe you came aboard after my Daddy died, but I listened to the show because it meant so much to him. On my way to school, I always heard about the Waddy/Peytona exit, and to this day when we pass it, I always tell my husband - remember when?
There is one quote my Daddy attributed to Bill Bailey as being the best ever quote. In the early 70's there was some debate in Louisville about how exactly a man could go to defend his property, family, etc. It just aggravated The Duke to death, so he handed down this advice after a LONG rant. "If you find said scumbag in your yard, or on your porch, and you think he is going to hurt your wife, children, parents, or you, shoot him with your gun, drag his dead body in your house, put an extra gun in the scumbags hand, and swear he entered your house with the intent to kill you with the gun in his hand. You just shot first." My Daddy thought that was a master plan.

A master plan, indeed. However, keep in mind that the Duke is a professional. All others are strongly advised not to try this at home. ;D
