John, I am going to send a donation soon, but have you ever thought of putting Google Ads on the website? I know someone who makes a few bucks a month with it. He's not getting rich, but it helps with expenses and such.

I think it's called Google AdSense. I've considered it for all my sites, too, but haven't gotten around to it. Guess I could be the guinea pig...

Thanks in advance Kevin.
I hadn't thought about doing Google ads. I'll check into it. They're already on the Message Boards, but I'm not getting a piece of those!

Google AdSense ads have now been added to nearly every page at 79WAKY.com. They work on a "pay-per-click" basis, so if you see something of interest, please check it out and help support our efforts. (We don't get any of the revenue generated by the ads on this Message Board; it all goes to ProBoards.) Thanks to Kevin for the suggestion.
Cash donations are still welcome, of course. :-)

Looking over this thread reminds me that it's been quite some time since I've made a contribution. It's really incredible when you consider the wealth of material that's on all three sites. And as much as I visit, I have yet to read, view and hear everything that is available. There is so much that it really takes time.
The sites have been quiet as of late, but I truly believe there are those who have yet to discover them. And then there are those of us who visit quite often and still have a wealth of material to check out. It's for those reasons that I support the WAKY, WKLO and LKYradio tribute sites and will for as long as possible.
And not only does contributing help to ensure that the sites will continue, but will also help to prevent John Quincy from having to sleep on the couch. That's right, wives can be quite testy when one's passion or hobby starts eating into the family budget. So join me in contributing to this worthy cause. Together we will help to preserve these wonderful sites and keep John Quincy from having to sleep on the couch.
As Gary Burbank's Rev. Deuteronomy Skaggs would say:
"Don't make me holler! Don't make me shout! Turn them pockets inside out!"
*ph-NoRk* (Gary often said that, too)
