It's my understanding that the Duke of Louisville is being featured, via phone, on the new WAKY 103.5 during Les Cook's morning show. I don't know if the segments are LIVE or pre-recorded, but they're being heard at least 3 times during the show. This is a really good idea since bringing the Duke out of retirement would be entirely out of the question and the short segments allow him to be a part of the show without becoming over-exhausted.
It's my hope that Les Cook is, in some way, promoting the Duke's address at Friendship Manor so that listeners may perhaps send cards & letters. Giving the address right at the end of the Duke's segments would probably be the most effective since the listener's attention span would surely be high. Of course, that's a great place to promote other stuff as well and Les will do what he's gotta do. I'm just trying to get the Duke some mail.
I'm told that the Duke gets mighty bored at the Manor and cards & letters do wonders for him. Actually visiting with the Duke has a tendency to wear him out very quickly, so it's not really advisable. Cards and letters allow him to share your memories at his discretion.
So, be it Christmas or any other time of the year send a card or letter to:

I recently received some samples of the segments he is doing with Les and he still sounds as sharp as ever. Living in Florida, I haven't seen the Duke since the second WAKY-WKLO reunion, so the majority of my post was based on what I've learned from others (John Quincy, Terry Meiners, Max Highbaugh, etc.)
Have you heard any of the Duke's segments on the new WAKY?
