Excellent article! I sure am glad the Duke's spirits have been energized from my last visit with him last year....he had told me at that time he was so tired of WAKY and people always wanting to talk about that-guess he has now realized just how inseparable he is from WAKY!
Glad to see Byron's article addressing the other passion of Bill's, that of art and painting. To see the easel in his room and always a different piece of work he's been working on makes me jealous-even in his present condition, he is so much more talented than I would be were I to pick up a brush! For anyone who plans on visiting him, take a moment from talking radio to talk a little art with him...and just bask in the beautiful artwork of the artiste' Bill Bailey!

Well said, Max. There's a great deal more to the Duke than just being a radio personality. In fact, he knows a great deal about a great many things. I believe that was a major part of why he was the success that he was.
And, oddly enough, regardless of what you may have heard about the Duke, I'm told he has a considerable amount of knowledge about the Bible. Based on his on-air persona and the wild stories of his life outside the stations, who'd a thunk it?
If you click on the photo image of the Duke in Byron Crawford's article (on-line) it becomes a pretty good large image of the man; one of the best I've seen of him in some time.
