Look at me, I'm a bi-polar poster... nothing for years, and now a dozen posts in one day...
Does anyone remember a song in the early 70's that was about teenagers using drugs (or something similiar) and there would be some talking over music and then it would break into a chorus... like "everything's gonna be alright" or something like that?
See you next year...LOL.. just joking.

"Old" friends from the WAKY era knew me as "Betty", though it sounds foreign to me now!

1st I thought, "Kicks"/Paul Revere & The Raiders....but that was '66, not the early '70's. Sorry!

The song was by Think. The title is "(Things Get A Little Easier) Once You Understand".
It was released twice. The first debut date was 12/4/71 on Laurie Records. It made it all the way up to 23 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The second release was on Big Tree Records on 3/9/74. The song climbed to 53 that time.

Good Lord, this sounds like a cheesy Saturday Night Live skit. Is that Al Franken as the father? I can't believe how kool this song sounded back then when I was a fouth grade rebel wearing stripped bell bottoms and dickie shirts. Flake off authority, I can turn up WAKY as loud as I want. But mom...I don't wanna go to bed at 9pm. www.youtube.com/watch?v=sH8go6bj-Y4

Cheap Trick does do the theme to 70's Show, but it's not the same. Good ear, though, as one can never mistake Robin Zander's voice!

Good Observation Max I have never heard Robin sing that type. I did not hear Rick's Guitar either. I have known Rick for years, and what a great guy and down to earth. Yes, he lives a few blocks away.

Oh My God. I can't believe it. What a flashback. One of those things that you have forgotten, but when you hear it you remember every word. Thanks for that, I think.
