Jinx Dawson, female lead singer of Coven ("One Tin Soldier") suffered a massive heart attack last Wednesday (July 9) and was taken unresponsive by paramedics to the hospital where she had to be revived. Her right artery was nearly completely blocked, requiring bypass surgery. She was released on Sunday (July 13) however, and is currently recovering at home. The group reformed last November and released a new CD two months ago.
Sure, Coven was a one-hit wonder...but what a hit it was. Remember hearing this on WAKY in 1971?
Go ahead and hate your neighbor, Go ahead and cheat a friend. Do it in the name of Heaven, You can justify it in the end. There won't be any trumpets blowing Come the judgement day, On the bloody morning after.... One tin soldier rides away.
Whenever I hear this song, it's hard not to think of Dude Walker doing the intro.
