RIP Johnny Mastrangelo. Johnny had one of the best voices of the rock era, and was still performing up to a few months ago. Johnny's voice powered The Crests, one of the first integrated groups, on such hits as "16 Candles", "Step By Step", "Trouble In Paradise", "The Angels Listened In", and others, as well as the million selling "Worst That Could Happen" by The Brooklyn Bridge.
Johnny left The Crests around '60 or '61, and did not have much success as a solo act. A few years later he met The Del Satins, who had backed up Dion after Dion and The Belmonts split. He also met a brass band. The three acts combined and formed The Brooklyn Bridge.
RIP Johnny
Thanks John for posting this. Johnny was one of my favorite singers. Check him out on youtube.
