What was the most embarassing moment for a radio station that you remember? For me it was when LRS used to have the call letters on the Big 4 Bridge during the holidays. I remember when those lights set The Big 4 Bridge on fire. I remember during a "Bridge the Gap" telathon on WLRS, Rocky Knight made a joke about it by saying "Well, we have pretty much burned our bridges". ;D

The most embarassing moment for me was at my first station around 1980. During WQXE's beautiful music era I was working one night (could have been in the early morning). We had 4 reel to reel decks that would alternate, in accordance with the programming (analog) for each quarter hour. After each 15 minutes we would play our spots and then either read a news update off the AP, PSA's or give the weather. There was an open window to my back and I had the mike open doing one of above (probably the weather or time & temp) when I started getting what sounded like natives through my headphones going "unga-bunga-bunga!" Being just 16 at the time, I just froze mid-sentence, not having ANY idea what was going on. With my gaze frozen on the VU meters, I just closed the mike, reached over and cued the music! It seemed like it all happened in slow motion. Turns out two of my 'friends' found out what shift I was working and stood outside the window and waited for me to take the air! The other time was about two years later at WKMO when I was rattling off football scores and I gave the score of the Cincinnati Beagles!
